Passport Seva service update- Maintenance finished ahead of schedule, and the Passport Seva portal , including GPSP, is operational from 1900 hrs IST on 01 September 2024.Passport. Citizens and all MEA/RPO/BOI/ISP/DoP/Police Authorities can now access the system, as noted on the official Passport Seva website.
We reported earlier that the Passport Seva portal would be offline for five days starting from Thursday, 29 August 2024. The official Passport Seva portal website announced the planned maintenance, stating that the portal would be unavailable from 29th August 2024, Thursday 20:00 hrs IST to 2nd September 2024, Monday 06:00 hrs IST. During this period, citizens and all MEA/RPO/BOI/ISP/DoP/Police Authorities couldn’t access the system.
The Passport Seva website also informed that appointments booked for 30th August 2024 would be rescheduled, and applicants would receive notifications accordingly.
The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a warning that many fraudulent websites and mobile applications are collecting data from applicants and charging hefty fees for filling out the online application form and scheduling appointments for Passport and related services.

The Ministry advises citizens applying for Indian Passport services to avoid these fraudulent websites and not make payments through them. The official website for Passport services is www.passportindia.gov.in.
Alternatively, applicants can use the official mobile app mPassport Seva, available for download on Android and iOS app stores.
