CBSE Class 12 Physics analysis: Overall a ‘challenging to moderate’ paper

The paper pattern and format of the CBSE Class 12 Physics Paper 2023-24 were according to the latest Class 12 Physics Sample Paper 2023-24 (issued by CBSE). There were 5 sections in the paper i.e. A, B, C, D and E.

Section A contains sixteen MCQ of 1 mark each, Section B contains five questions of two marks each, Section C contains seven questions of three marks each, Section D contains two case study based questions of 4 marks each, section E contains three long questions of five marks each.

There was no overall choice. However, internal choices were provided in some questions.

As per students, the difficulty level of the question paper was Moderate to Challenging. Most time-consuming section was Section C, Difficulty level of numerical problems was Medium, according to students.

All the questions in the paper were from the latest CBSE 12th Physics syllabus. Students felt that the theory questions tested the student’s depth. The CBSE Class 12 Physics question paper was tougher than the CBSE Class 12 sample question paper. Question paper was also lengthy and time-consuming. Most students felt “Section-C” was difficult and time-consuming.
